What is an Audio Minute?

Updated on: October 2, 2023

what is an audio minute

Transcription rates are based on Audio Hours.

1 Audio Hour = 60 minutes of audio/video recording

This means that no matter how long it takes to transcribe a recording, you would still pay by length of the recording and not the actual hours worked.

While this brings a great deal of transparency to pricing, a new person may still benefit from understanding how the actual rate is arrived at.

4 Rules of Verbatim Transcription

Updated on: May 30, 2024

What is verbatim transcription

Verbatim transcription is the process of transforming spoken language or audio/video recordings into written text with meticulous precision.

It involves capturing every word, utterance, filler, stutter, non-verbal communication, and background sound exactly as they occurred.

The primary goal of verbatim transcription is to create a faithful representation of the spoken content. No content is omitted or paraphrased; instead, every aspect, including pauses, hesitations, laughter, overlapping speech, and external noises, is transcribed.

The outcome is an extensive and detailed written account of the original spoken communication.
