FAQ

What happens after I upload my recordings?

We will listen to your files and send you an invoice with cost and turnaround time details within 4 business hours.

How do I pay?

Payments are due in advance and can be made via Paypal or bank transfer. A Paypal payment link is included in your invoice. Banking details can be included on request – please write to info@indianscribes.com for this.

Do you offer volume discounts?

Volume discounts are available on 10+ hours of recording. Please request a quote for exact pricing and discounts for your project.

Which file formats do you accept?

All digital file formats are accepted. MP3, MP4, and WMV work best. We also work directly from online recordings (like Youtube videos and podcasts).

How do I send my recordings to you?

You can send your recordings to files@indianscribes.com via We Transfer, Dropbox, or any file sharing service of your choice.

Who will transcribe my files?

IndianScribes is a worldwide network of transcriptionists. Your files will be transcribed by a native speaker of the primary accent used on your files. For e.g. if the speakers have a European Spanish accent, the files will be transcribed by a Spanish transcriptionist but if the speakers have a Latin American Spanish accent, the files will be transcribed by a Mexican or Argentinian transcriptionist.

How do you maintain data security?

We take data security seriously and use best in class services to ensure that your files are safe. All audio files and transcripts (including the ones uploaded on this site) are stored on Dropbox, which provides 256-bit AES encryption. Your transcripts and recordings are permanently deleted from our systems after 7 days from delivery.

What about confidentiality?

Your files are shared with transcribers/translators who work on your project. Every team-member is bound by the terms of a strict non-disclosure agreement and deletes all files from their system at the end of the project. If your data is highly sensitive in nature, we recommend that you anonymize names before sending the recordings to us or use the services of an in-house transcriber. See Privacy Policy.
